Description
The CD4026 is a CMOS integrated circuit that combines a decade counter with a built-in 7-segment display driver , allowing direct control of a common-cathode 7-segment display without requiring an external decoder. It counts incoming clock pulses from 0 to 9 and automatically updates the display output for each count. With a wide operating voltage range of 3V to 15V , low power consumption, and built-in control features such as clock inhibit and asynchronous reset , the 4026 is ideal for counters, event displays, digital clocks, and numeric display systems. Features • Integrated decade counter (0–9 counting) • Built-in 7-segment decoder and driver • Direct common-cathode display interface • CMOS low-power operation • Wide supply voltage range (3V to 15V) • Clock inhibit input for count control • Asynchronous reset input • Carry-out output for cascading multiple counters • Edge-triggered clock input • No external BCD decoder required • Suitable for battery-powered applications • DIP-16 through-hole package • Breadboard-friendly design • Reliable numeric display control Tutorials • CD4026 | Basic things of IC 4026 with practical circuit
