Description
The 7448 is a TTL logic integrated circuit designed to convert 4-bit Binary-Coded Decimal (BCD) inputs into control signals for common-cathode 7-segment displays . It translates BCD values into the corresponding segment outputs for displaying decimal digits 0–9 . Unlike the 7447, the 7448 provides active-high totem-pole outputs , making it suitable for directly driving common-cathode displays. Operating on a standard 5V TTL supply , it is widely used in counters, clocks, measurement instruments, and digital display systems. Features • Converts 4-bit BCD input to 7-segment display outputs • Designed for common-cathode 7-segment displays • Active-high totem-pole outputs • Standard TTL logic compatibility • Single 5V supply operation • Lamp test input for segment testing • Blanking input for display suppression • Ripple blanking support for multi-digit displays • Simplifies numeric display interfacing • Suitable for counters and timing circuits • DIP-16 through-hole package • Breadboard-friendly design • Reliable TTL switching performance • Ideal for digital display applications Tutorials • Pin out of the 7447 BCD to 7 Segment Display Decoder Explained
