Description
The 7447 is a TTL logic integrated circuit designed to convert 4-bit Binary-Coded Decimal (BCD) inputs into control signals for common-anode 7-segment displays. It simplifies numeric display interfacing by decoding BCD values into the correct segment outputs for digits 0–9. The 7447 features open-collector outputs, making it suitable for directly driving LED display segments with external current-limiting resistors. Operating on a standard 5V TTL supply, it is widely used in counters, clocks, measuring instruments, and digital display panels. Features • Converts 4-bit BCD input to 7-segment output • Designed for common-anode 7-segment displays • Open-collector output configuration • Standard TTL logic compatibility • Single 5V supply operation • Lamp test input for display verification • Blanking input for display suppression • Ripple blanking support for multi-digit displays • Simplifies numeric display circuits • Suitable for counters and timers • DIP-16 through-hole package • Breadboard-friendly design • Reliable TTL switching performance • Ideal for educational and industrial digital systems Tutorials • Pin out of the 7447 BCD to 7 Segment Display Decoder Explained
